Cheryll Lynne Pennau

Cheryll Lynne (nee Stoeckli) Pennau, age 63 of Oshkosh died at her home on Friday, January 27, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Oshkosh on August 3, 1948, a daughter of the late Orville and Marjorie (Petri) Stoeckli. She married Robert Pennau at Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh on July 3, 1967.Cherie was a graduate of Oshkosh High School, class of 1966. While she dedicated most of her time to raising a family, she still found time to share her many talents. She and her husband spent time raising and showing Old English Sheepdogs, which eventually led to her starting her own business providing Dog Pedigrees. She also loved to spend time sewing, doll making, painting and crafting. In recent years, she spent time researching family genealogy, and creating family scrapbooks. She loved to spend time with her family, her grandchildren and her two sheepdogs, Lilly and Ivy. Survivors include her husband of forty-four years, Robert Pennau; two sons, Marc (Jenny) Pennau and Kevin Pennau; three grandchildren, Evan, Gavin and Maddie Pennau, all of Oshkosh; one sister, Judy Clavette; one nephew, Jeff (Tierney) Clavette; and two nieces, Nicki (John) Rasmussen and Cindy (Kurt) Martin, all of Oshkosh; her mother-in-law, Audrey Pennau, of Pilot Point, TX; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, grand nieces and nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law, Richard Pennau, and a brother-in-law, Bernie Clavette.A private memorial service was held at Lake View Memorial Park with Rev. Al Spitler officiating. A memorial to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society has been established.The family extends a sincere thank you to Dr. Eric Duwell, the physicians at Aurora Medical Center and the Aurora Visiting Nurses Hospice for the care and compassion given to Cherie.
