Chester Alfred Gomoll

Chester A. Gomoll Jr. 62 of Oshkosh, died at his home on Tuesday, September 11, 2007. He was born in Oshkosh on September 1, 1945, a son of the late Chester Sr. and Rhea Belfeuil Gomoll. He married Kathleen Faulks on May 12, 1973 in Weyauwega.Chester was a Naval veteran and had been employed at the Universal Foundry for 20 years, and at Oshkosh Truck Corp. for the last 15 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, Civil War and World War II history, cooking, dancing and sharing stories with his family. He was there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Chester never went anywhere without his Confederate Civil War hat.He is survived by his wife Kathleen Gomoll, Oshkosh; three sons,Lawrence (Melissa) Gomoll, Palmdale, CA; Richard (Kim) Gomoll. Kernersville, N.C.; Jason Gomoll, Oshkosh; three brothers, Ronald (Kathy) Gomoll, Oshkosh; Steven (Mary) Gomoll, Green Bay; Dan Gomoll, Omro; 9 grandchildren, Eric, Cole, Paige, Damien, Stephanie, Joshua, Jason, Kaitlyn and Hanna; 4 step-grandchildren, Austin, Alex, Kari and Tyler; mother-in-law, Gladys Faulks, Weyauwega; two sisters-in-law, Marlene Holzhausen, Oshkosh; and Judy (Brian) Buchholz, Weyauwega. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Gary father-in-law, Oliver Faulks; and brother-in-law Glenn Holzhausen.Funeral services will be held at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007 at 3:00 PM with Art Abraham presiding. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM to the time of service. Following the funeral service, military honors will take place.
