Clarence Mike Goerlitz, 88 of Oshkosh, died Thursday July 12, 2007 at Creek View Manor. He was born in Oshkosh on December 26, 1918, a son of Peter and Alma Gluth Goerlitz. On September 6, 1941 he married Bernice V. Yancy in Oshkosh. She preceded him in death on May 8, 2006.Mike was quite a well known figure in Oshkosh having owned and operated several restaurants including, Mikes Grill, Mikes Airport Grill and Catering, and Michaels at the Airport Supper Club. He was active on a number of community boards and functions, including being a former board member for the Miss Wisconsin Pageant. He belonged to the Plymouth Congregational Church, and had been a member of the VFW Post 1908, Oshkosh Lodge #27 F & AM, Winnebago Shrine Club, and Tripoli Temple AAONMS, and T.P.A. He really enjoyed attending and cheering on his grandchildren at their sports activities. He had also worked as a realtor for Coldwell Banker/ Schwab Realty and had served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his sons, Richard (Cherri) Goerlitz of Flint, TX, Michael (JoAn Walter) Goerlitz of Oshkosh, and James (Shirley) Goerlitz of Oshkosh, a daughter, Patrice Miller of Oshkosh, fourteen grandchildren, Amy (Paul) Radtke, Bethany Basler, Andrew Goerlitz, Scott Goerlitz, Tami (Luis) Ojeda, Heather (Joe) Kotloski, Lori (Ryan) McGinnis, Ryan (Sara) Goerlitz, Jared (Melissa) Goerlitz, Kristen Goerlitz, Trisha, Tara, Chad, and Matthew Miller, eleven great grandchildren, Brandon Basler, Riess, Conner, and Alec Radtke, Madelyn, and Ckhloe Ojeda, Claire Goerlitz, Cal, Megan, and Katelyn McGinnis, and Izabel Kotloski, a half sister, Virginia (Donald) Anderson of Neenah, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Amber Spalding.Mikes funeral will be Tuesday July 17, 2007 at 11:30 AM at the Plymouth Congregational Church with the Rev. Lynn Scovil and deacon Jim Stadler officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside on Monday from 4-8 PM and at the church on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of the funeral. A memorial has been established.
