Claude Daniel Tollard

Claude D. Tollard, age 75, passed away into the hands of the Lord, on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Aurora Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born on September 18, 1940 to the late Benjamin and Rose (Meidl) Tollard in Oshkosh. He married the love of his life, Mary J. Switlick on September 9, 1966.He worked at Rockwell International for 31 and a half years and after retiring from there worked at Evergreen for ten years as a grounds keeper.Claude loved gardening, dancing when he could, and above all spending time with his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years: Mary J. Tollard; his two daughters: Traci (Eric) Oleson and Kim Tollard; grandchildren: Mackenzie, Carley, and Reid Oleson, and Samuel and Madeline Bickley; sisters: Darlene Curtis and Kathy (Tim) Sebora.Claude is further survived by sisters in law: Mary Ellen Tollard, Marie Tollard, Judith (Jerry) Jorgenson, Nancy Lee, Kathleen (Elroy) Petermann, Kristine (Michael) Domer, and Elizabeth (Edward) Metzler; brothers in law: Leo Demski and Terry Miller; and many nices, nephews, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Loraine (Donald) Groff, Elaine (Robert) Hasse Vivian Miller, and Fran Demski; brothers, Chester, Delbert, Harold, Dick, and Calvin Tollard; sisters in law: Patricia Tollard and Karen (Tommy) Kramer; and brothers in law Joseph Sippl and Thomas Switlick.A mass of Christian burial will be held for Claude at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church (830 S. Westhaven Dr.) with Fr. Doug LeCaptain officiating. Visitation will be held at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of the Davita Dialysis Center, Aurora hospice, and Aurora hospital especially Dr. Lake for all the love and care they gave to Claude in his last years.In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.Claude will forever be remembered for his smiling and his sense of humor no matter where he went or what he was going through.
