Clyde G. Hartman, age 88, of Oshkosh, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Evergreen.
Clyde was born May 5, 1930 in Oshkosh and was the 3rd of 6 children born to George and Tillie Youngwirth Hartman. He was a graduate of Oshkosh High School in 1948. On December 16, 1950, he was united in marriage to Elaine Schmude. They lived and raised their three daughters in Oshkosh.
Clyde adored his wife Elaine and was extremely proud that all three of his daughters went to college. He had a great love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed those activities with his friends. He always had a hunting dog that he was extremely fond of. He was a true Packers fan and almost never missed watching a game. He was always there to assist people who needed help. Prior to his retirement, Clyde worked at Kimberly-Clark for 30 years. He had an incredible work ethic and continued long after retirement to help others with their ventures. Clyde’s family will always be incredibly proud of him.
He is survived by his wife Elaine, of 67 years, his three daughters, Cherie Hartman (Bill Wittkowske), Steph (Clark) Nipko, Michele (Matt) Meszaros; seven grandchildren, Seth and Aaron Wittkowske, Shannon (Mike) Kudick, Eric and Trevor Nipko, Ethan and Adrianna Meszaros; two great-granddaughters, Charlotte Wittkowske and Elaina Kudick; two brothers, Harvey (Diane) Hartman, Glen (Ruby) Hartman; brother-in-law Marlin (Arlette) Schmude; special nephew Steve (Deb) Jungwirth; many nieces and nephews.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, his brother George Hartman, his sisters Muriel Robinson and Shirley Jungwirth; sister-in-law Joann Hartman, brothers-in-law David Robinson and Jerome Jungwirth.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr., Oshkosh, with Pastor Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family is establishing a memorial to Alzheimer’s Association – Wisconsin.
