Constance L. Norton

October 28, 1952 — August 27, 2023

Constance Lynne Norton, age 70, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023, from a battle of pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones to say goodbye.

Connie was born on October 28, 1952, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to the late Carl and Florence Dinger. She was proud of her nearly 30-year career as a Scheduler for Mercy Medical Center.

Connie married the love of her life, Donald Norton, on March 18, 2005, in Oshkosh. Together with their blended family they shared over 30 years together.

Connie was a bright, enthusiastic, loving person. Her magic touch enhanced all her favorite hobbies and interests. A favorite pastime of the Dinger ladies is to garden. She was proud of her gardens at her home and cabin, took pictures to showcase their splendor, and would have friends and family over to see their beauty. She loved to go their cabin in Red Granite, where she would garden, relax, watch movies, and “pig out” on incredible homemade dinners, baked goods and snacks. She enjoyed collections of pigs and chef figurines, and also decorating for the Fall season. One of our dearest memories was how the family home was decorated inside and out and top to bottom with Fall décor. It was her favorite season, and it was a beautiful display every year. She loved music and going to concerts. She loved to travel to Georgia to see her daughter and son-in-law. She cherished her talks with friends and family and liked to chitchat on the phone for at least an hour at a time. Her stories were animated and lively, full of personality to paint a picture, just like her genuine spirit. She was a joy to be around.

She is survived by husband, Donald Norton; three children Eric (Amy) Nowak of Minnesota, Sarah (Chris) Kiel of Georgia, and Angie (Shawn) Burwell of Wisconsin; three sisters, Sally Counts, Cheryl (Jere) Lain, and Karla (Fred) Westphal; four grandchildren, Greysen, Bayler, Eleanor and Augustus; several nephews, nieces, extended family and friends, and her special lifetime dear friendship with Shari (Ron) Bieber. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, beloved brother Steven Dinger, and brother-in-law Thomas Counts.

A visitation and memorial service for Connie will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a seated service at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Konrad Behlman Funeral Home, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh, WI 54904.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Lustgarten Foundation, Lustgarten.org to further pancreatic cancer medical research.

Do not cry for me, for I am always near.

Look up at the stars, and see that twinkle was meant for you.

When you hear the birds sing, I am whispering you a song.

And when the flowers dance and sway, it is me sending my love.

For I may be gone and not forgotten, I am nothing more than a smile away.

You are loved and cherished, and we all look forward to seeing you again. Rest in Peace Dear Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt and Friend.

- Sarah Louise
