Daniel E. Raddatz, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Dan was born to the late George and Florence (Butt) Raddatz on July 25, 1944 in Oshkosh, WI. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1962, and then attended the UW-Madison Farm and Industry Short Course. He married the love of his life, Karen Herzig, on November 30, 1963 and they spent 50 wonderful years together until her death in 2013. Dan and Karen raised four children.
Daniel was a machinist at Oshkosh Corporation for 41 years. Dan had a passion for farming and loved working on the family farm in the Town of Black Wolf. He enjoyed the company of his family and friends. Dan also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, repairing small engines, rebuilding tractors, cutting firewood and riding his three-wheeler. Dan took great pride in his tractors and vehicles, especially his Road Runner. He was a fan of country music and rock and roll.
Daniel is survived by his son, Dustin “Bear” Raddatz; two daughters, Rhonda (Kevin) Bennett, and Kelly (John) Lallier; daughter-in-law Linda Raddatz; brother, Tim Raddatz; grandchildren, Ashley Lewicki, Dylan (Alison Matush) Butzlaff, Taylor, Melinda and Kalei Zimmer, Megan, Sydney, Danny, Jacob, and Beau Lallier, and Liza Malovey. He is further survived by six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Danny and granddaughter, Brooke Lallier.
A funeral service for Daniel will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes- Westside (100 Lake Pointe Dr) on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 6PM. A Visitation will be held from 3PM until the time of service. Rev. Andi Wolf will be officiating. Burial will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Dan’s family would like to thank Dr. Karen Gremminger and the staff of Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, Dan’s neighbor, Alice, Heather and Laura from Visiting Angels of Oshkosh, and the staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital, especially his nurse Haley for the compassionate care they all provided.
Dan was an amazing father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed by his family and friends.
