Daniel John Duchatschek, age 76, passed away on January 15, 2024, at Arborview Manor in Oshkosh. He was born on August 18, 1947, in Oshkosh to the late Leo and Gertrude (Heinzl) Duchatschek. He was united in marriage to Sandra Brewer on July 1, 1967, and together they shared 50 years of marriage until her passing on November 4, 2017.
Daniel was a true sports enthusiast and had a deep passion for watching football and baseball. He would often gather with loved ones to cheer on his favorite teams, sharing in the excitement and camaraderie of the games. His love for the outdoors was felt through his fondness for hunting and fishing, where he found solace and tranquility.
Renowned for his mischievous spirit, Daniel had a knack for pranks and a remarkable sense of humor. His infectious laughter and clever jokes brightened the lives of those around him. He was the life of the party and brought joy to every gathering he attended.
One unusual quirk that set Daniel apart was his unconventional method of eating ice cream with a fork, in his opinion “the correct utensil.” This peculiar preference never failed to raise eyebrows, but it was just one of the many endearing qualities that made him so memorable.
He had a mischievous side that even extended to bingo nights, where he would playfully add a touch of excitement by attempting to bend the rules. Despite his unconventional approach, his zest for life and love for fun endeared him to all who knew him.
Daniel is survived by his sons: Daryl (Darcy), Brian (Wanda), Bruce (Brenda) Duchatschek; grandchildren: Bruce (Jamie) Weber, Jennifer (Richard) Mortimer, Amanda Duchatschek Heather, Lexi and Bre Duchatschek; great grandchildren: Felicity Henkel, Feival Mortimer, Charlie King, Jimmy Weber, Maddy Weber; brothers: Leon (Cynthia), John (Cindy) Duchatschek; brothers-in-law: Richard Wuest, Jerry Prellwitz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. He was further preceded in death by his son, Scott Duchatschek; sisters: Mary Ellen Wuest, Lauren Prellwitz; and great grandchild: Ankhesenamun Mortimer.
