Daniel John Misevicz, 65, was called home to heaven, on Thursday, October 25, 2018, after using the last of his nine lives.
He was preceded in death by his father Ambrose and mother Ramona (Christiansen), eight dogs, two legs, two kidneys, a heart valve, and part of the middle finger on his left hand. He is now reunited in the great junkyard in the sky with all his missing parts, and his long lost 10 mm socket.
He met the love of his life, Patty, while working at the women’s prison. She, however, worked at the carwash, where he won her over by fixing broken machinery. They shared a love of nature and adventure during their 40-year marriage, the love of broken machines not so much.
Dan enjoyed many things in his life. Among those were hunting for treasures in the junkyard, scuba diving, the ocean, restoring vehicles, swimming at the Red Granite quarry, camping, pickled herring, talking with strangers, popping wheelies on motorcycles, but his most favorite was spending time with his family and taking the grandkids for rides of adventure on the back of his wheelchair.
Dan was a man of strong values and perseverance. He opened his heart to all who crossed his path. His faith and spirituality guided him, and he always knew he was safe because the Lord was with him. He taught his family to search for treasures not only in the world, but in people’s hearts. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Patty (Stockstad); children Lisa, Jessica (David Bruss), Katie, and Joseph (Andrea); grandchildren Joseph, Louis, Penelope, Ramona, and Theodore, as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is also survived by his aunts Linda Schwelke and Sister Josephe, and brothers Joseph and Tom.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside, 402 Waugoo Avenue, Oshkosh. A visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
