Daniel R. King

Daniel R. King, age 66, formerly of Berlin, passed away at Meadowbrook of Appleton on Saturday, December 14, 2024. He was born on June 1, 1958 in Oshkosh to the late Dale and Patricia (Schmiedel) King.

Dan graduated from Berlin High School in 1977. Afterwards, he faithfully served in the United States Army for four years. He was stationed in Italy, Korea, South Carolina and Georgia.

Dan was introduced to microwave technology while serving in the Army. After being honorably discharged, Dan found a career in cell phone technology. He held various jobs in that field, including a switch operator with US Cellular and contract work that would take him to various parts of the US as well as Venezuela.

Dan was a lover of dogs. Over the years he had a German Shepard, as well as four rescue Cocker Spaniels.

A funeral service for Dan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Lake View Memorial Park chapel, 2785 Algoma Blvd. with Military Honors and Entombment to follow. Visitation will be held at the chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

A special thank you to the staff at Meadowbrook of Appleton and to the Unity Hospice team that took care of Dan. He especially enjoyed the “coffee clutches” at Meadowbrook.
