Daniel "Mac" D Mcdonald

January 19, 1937 — July 18, 2017

Dan (Mac) McDonald, age 80 of Oshkosh, WI passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 19, 1937 in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Franklin and Pauline (Waterman) McDonald. Dan married Ruth Coats on May 19, 1958 in Eureka, Minnesota.
He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1955 and also studied at Colorado A&M College and UW-Oshkosh. He was a member of the 32nd Division National Guard, and was called to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1961. During his work years he was employed by several auto dealerships in Oshkosh, and retired from L&S Truck Center.
Dan is survived by his daughter: Gail McDonald of Appleton, and his son: Eric (Anita) McDonald of Oshkosh; one sister: Janet (Robert) Haddad of Webster Groves, MO; three grandchildren: Kendra Roble of Appleton, Amanda Roble of Plover, and Ryan McDonald of Oshkosh; one great grandchild: Emma Vanden Boogard of Appleton. He is further survived by a niece, Paula (Haddad) Tosch; and a nephew, Michael Haddad. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth.
In accordance with Dan's wishes, a private Celebration of his Life will be held, with graveside burial at North Rushford Cemetery.
A memorial in his name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
