Daniel M. OBrien, 62, of Oshkosh died on Saturday, January 31, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 17, 1946 in Oshkosh the son of John and Cecelia Kujawa OBrien. He married Irmgard Kolberg on February 19, 1972 in Oshkosh. Daniel was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament (St Marys Catholic Church). He was a Navy, Vietnam Era Veteran earning the Vietnam Campaign Metal and two Bronze Stars, serving on the USS Talladega. He retired in 2007 from Kimberly Clark.Survivors include two daughters, Amy (Patrick) Fannin and Anne (Dan) Bohn; two brothers, Jack (Peggie) OBrien, Michael (Patty) OBrien; four grandchildren, Joshua, Gabriel, Leah Fannin and Monica Griswold; one sister, Cathy (Russell) Doemel and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Patricia Dunning; and a nephew, Jeffrey Rusch.A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, February, 4, 2009 at Noon at Most Blessed Sacrament (St Marys Catholic Church) 442 Monroe St with the Rev James Jugenheimer. Family and friends may visit at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to the time of service.
