Darlene Kay Hamann

November 15, 1947 — July 5, 2024

Oshkosh

Darlene Kay Hamann, age 76 of Oshkosh, passed away at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton on Friday, July 5, 2024. She was born November 15, 1947 in Oshkosh to the late Daniel and Dorothy (Schneider) Pfaffenroth, weighing just four pounds. Darlene was a fighter from the start, embodying strength and grace throughout her life.

In December 1969, she exchanged vows with her loving husband, Terry Hamann, at Zion Lutheran Church. They were forever grateful that their friend Carol introduced them 58 years ago, as it truly was love at first sight. Together, they raised two daughters and shared countless memories filled with love and laughter.

She dedicated over four decades of her career to the Dempsey Law Firm, starting her journey as a legal secretary and bookkeeper before leaving the workforce to focus on herself. Darlene was a loyal Wisconsinite, faithfully cheering on her favorite sports teams whether it was the Packers, Brewers, Bucks or Badgers. She appreciated the camaraderie and friendly competition of the Tuesday Twilight Bowling league. Darlene treasured afternoons and evenings enjoying good food and even better company with friends and family.

Despite her busy life, Darlene always found time to escape the Wisconsin winter by 'snow-birding' to Arizona with her close friends, reveling in the sunshine and scenic beauty. She adored her family and was a devoted Nana to her cherished grandchildren. Darlene left a lasting impact on those who knew her, and her memory will be forever cherished.

Darlene is lovingly survived by her husband, Terry Hamann; daughters, Lori (Kevin) Much and Michele (Scott) Kosmer; grandchildren, Brayden and Kalyn Much and Tyler Kosmer; brother-in-law, James (Kay) Hamann; nephews, Michael (Britanny) and Justin Hamann. In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her father-and-mother-in-law, Herbert and Margaret Hamann and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service for Darlene will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you might consider making a donation in memory of Darlene to ThedaCare at Home Hospice or Cherry Meadows Hospice
