David F. Zander, 74, of Oshkosh, passed away at Bethel Home on Monday, February 26, 2018. He was born on January 30, 1944 in Poy Sippi, son of Herbert and Florence Zander. David was a graduate of Oshkosh High School. He proudly served with the Oshkosh Fire Department for over 30 years. David loved country music and traveling to the Grand Ole Opry with friends. He was an avid bowler and loved relaxing and having a few beers with family. David also enjoyed his Canada fishing trips with family and friends from the fire department.
He is survived by his one son, Steven (Dana) Zander; two daughters, Jennifer Zander, and Anna Hagman; four grandchildren, David (Ashley Lauscher) Hagman, Justin Zander, Alyssa Hagman, and Nate Zander; two great-grandchildren, Marley and Kai; sisters, Mary (Harold) Ebert, and Donna (Jerry) Reichenberger; and sister-in-law, Pat Zander.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Ronald (Nancy Petrie) and Roger Zander.
Visitation will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, 402 Waugoo Ave, on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 9AM until the time of the service. Service at 11 AM.
Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mercy Medical Center, Bethel Home, and Affinity Hospice for the care they provided to David. Also to Dad’s neighbors for their kindness and care shown to our Pa.
In the words of David, “One more, then we’ll go.”
