David Gene Nelson

David G. Nelson, 68, Oshkosh, died August 5, 2016 peacefully at Bethel Home in Oshkosh. He was born on May 4, 1948 the son of the late Eugene and Marie(Leppla) Nelson of Dale, Wisconsin. David married Roxanne Koehn on October 9, 1976. David was blessed with the love of a blended family of two daughters and a stepson. He also enjoyed many things including motorcycle riding, classic cars, NASCAR, crossword puzzles, but most of all music.He played in several bands starting in his teen years, thru college and into his early 30s including, Lost Souls, Broadway, Catalinas, Cushlamocree, and Cush, which toured 6 Midwest States. In December of 1980, David directed the Bethany United Church of Christ to perform Handels Hallelujah Chorus from the Messiah. He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Marie(Leppla) Nelson, nephew Eric, cousin Elaine, in-laws John and Marcella(Kinderman) Koehn, Dan(Michele) Futta, Dick(Debra) Pease, and aunts and uncles.He is survived by his loving wife, Roxanne, daughters Kristin(Greg) Stumpner and their children Jake, Kyle, Brianna, Jacklyn, and Bailey, Jennifer(Michael) Wiedenhaft and their children Ayron, Alyssa and Abbygail, stepson Chad Schulz and his children Amanda, Stephanie, and Lucas. His brother Vance Nelson, two aunts Betty(Elmond) Kromm and Germaine(Otto) Nelson, two sisters in law Debra Pease and Michele Futta and one brother in law Michael Koehn, many cousins and several nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held on Monday August 22, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Eastside. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the nurses and staff at Bethel Home for all their patience, kindness and gentle care.
