David John Dorow

David J. Dorow, age 86, of Oshkosh passed away on February 16, 2010 at Bethel Home. He was born on September 10, 1923 in New London, WI the son of Arthur and Clara Dorow. He married Florence Rock in March of 1948 (now deceased) and Marguerite Peg Agrell in November of 1986 who survives. Dave served his country from January 1943 to April 1946 During WWII in the US-Philippines, and Japan and is currently a member of the Local AMVETS Post 7. He studied Accounting at Oshkosh Business College, worked in the office of Dunphy Boat Corporation and Pluswood Industries until his retirement in 1989. After retirement he worked part time for Take A Break and did income taxes for senior citizens for AARP and various other volunteer jobs. Survivors include his wife, Peg; one daughter, Diane (Pat) Patterson; one step daughter, Midge Counton, four grandchildren, Josh (Kara) Patterson, David Patterson, Eric Counton, Carrie (Nate) Marcionette; one great granddaughter, Mihret Patterson and a sister-in-law, Gertrude Weller. He was further survived by nieces, nephews and a special god child, Susan Tretheway. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Donald and Douglas (Gloria) Dorow; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Robert) Niemuth; one brother-in-law, Edwin Weller and one step son, Craig Agrell. Funeral services for David will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2010 at Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church (1526 Algoma Blvd - Oshkosh) with the Revs. Jeffrey Berg and Nathan Ericson officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 2:00 p.m. to the service time. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. Memorials in Davids name made to Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church and School would be greatly appreciated. Davids family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of both Gabriels Villa and Bethel Home for the care and compassion given to David during his stay.
