David P. Kent was born on August 10th, 1949 to Paul and Betty (Dinger) Kent in Oshkosh. He lived his whole life in Oshkosh and worked at Jet Stream Car Wash and then Piggly Wiggly.
On February 8th, 1992 he married his soul partner, Julie Zabel. At that time, he took on a mission to care for her the best he could. That mission ended on January 8th, 2021 when Julie passed away. After Dave’s mission was completed, all he wanted was to be back with her. The Good Lord granted him with that wish on April 10th, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center after suffering from a broken heart.
Dave enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors.
He is survived by brothers-in-law, Lyle (Angie) Zabel and Kevin (Tammie) Zabel; sister-in-law, Jean Zabel; nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Betty, his parents-in-law, Kenneth and Nancy Zabel, and his brother-in-law, Jeff Zabel.
A graveside service for Dave will take place at the Lind Center Cemetery, Lind Center Rd. Waupaca, on Monday, April 19th, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Karen Jewell officiating.
A special thank you to the staff at Aurora for their compassionate care and St. Andrew’s Ev. Lutheran Church for all their kind help to Dave.
