David W. Zink, age 77, Oshkosh, died Friday, November 17, 2017 in his home, after a short illness. He was born September 11, 1940 to William and Elaine Zink. On June 12, 1965 David married Beverly Backer. They enjoyed 52 happy years together.
David enjoyed rides with his buddy, Midnight, in his Camero. He also loved playing music and computer, watching the Packers, and car racing. David was a veteran of the US Army.
He is survived by his wife, Bev; his great pal, Midnight; mother-in-law, Leona Backer; his adopted son, Doug Carder Sr.; sons: Bryan and Dan; one brother, John; best friends: Kevin and Jenn Jaenke and Lollie and Jack Pearlberg; and many other friends, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for David will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Konrad-
Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, with Rev. Roger Nielsen officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service. Burial will be held in the spring in Baldwins Mills Cemetery, Weyauwega.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses at Mercy Medical Center, especially Elizabeth, Tracey from Ascension Nursing at Home, and Lisa and Chris from Ascension Hospice.
