Dean R. Graves, 87 of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at Eden Meadows Nursing Home on the morning of November 29, 2010 after a two year up and down struggle with congestive heart failure. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Iva Graves; brothers, Donald and Walter Richard Graves; and his wife of over sixty years, Fern Graves. He is survived by his son, Paul; daughter-in-law, Carol; and two grandchildren Erich and Rachel.Dean was a hard working man who never could sit still for very long. Through the years he enjoyed deer hunting, trout fishing, spending time at (the farm) near Waupaca with friends, taking French and working at the woodshop at the Oshkosh Senior Center, playing the organ, attending his army reunions (167th Combat Engineering Battalion), and reading Louis L amour books. Many will remember him for his willingness to help others and his very dry sense of humor.A special thank you to the wonderful staff of Eden Meadows who made Deanâ?TMs last days on this earth as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. There will be a memorial service for friends and family on December 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Plymouth Congregational Church in Oshkosh.
