Delores Jeanette Pfeiffer

Delores J. Pfeiffer, age 95 died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Century Oaks. She was born on April 9, 1918, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of John and Minnie(Priepke) Streblow. On June 24, 1939, she married Norman Pfeiffer in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death in 1973, as did long-time friend Leo Wilke in 2004.Delores and Norman were farmers during the early years of their marriage and she also worked at Miles Kimball. In 1960 they began building Far Vu Golf Course. Construction and operation of Far Vu which opened for public play in 1964, was their vocation for 13 years. Delores continued to manage Far Vu until 1978. Del was an accomplished artist specializing in oil painting. She also enjoyed golf, cooking, birding, and especially flower gardening. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ.She is survived by her four sons: Curtis (Jeanne) Pfeiffer of Midland, MI, Carl of Oshkosh, John (Sandy) of Oshkosh and Lee (Julia) of Waukau. She is survived by seven grandchildren: Dr. Julie Pfeiffer of Dallas, TX, Scott (Mandy) Pfeiffer of St. Joseph, MI, Jason (Jennifer) Pfeiffer of Lisbon, WI, Justin (Alyssa) Pfeiffer, of Carlsbad, CA, John II (Tori) Pfeiffer of Oshkosh, Alisa (Kurt) Skattebo of Marshfield, WI, and Erika Pfeiffer of Cary, NC as well as nine great grandchildren.She is survived by one brother Robert (Joyce) Streblow and one sister Mary Lou (Robert) Fox of Fond du Lac, along with many nieces and nephews as well. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Glen, Kenneth and John Streblow; as well as sisters, Bernice Weber, Gertrude Huber and Marian Wilke Jordarski; and one grandchild, Greg Pfeiffer.A memorial service for Delores will be held at 2:00 p.m., on March 22, 2014 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ (1316 Michigan St.,) Oshkosh, WI 54902 with Pastor Andi Wolf officiating. Following services a celebration of Dels life will be held at Far Vu Golf Course for family and friends.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Dels name for her church Emmanuel United Church of Christ.
