Dennis Lee Wussow, age 76 of Oshkosh passed away on Friday, September 30, 2011. He was born in Cicero, Wisconsin on September 5, 1935, a son of the late Harry and Dorothy (Burmeister) Wussow. On July 2, 1960 he married Joyce Juedes in Oshkosh. Dennis served his country in the U.S. Navy and attended Wisconsin State College Oshkosh. He was a graduate of the Wisconsin School of Banking. Dennis was a long time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.Dennis was a very involved and dedicated family man who led by example and quiet resolve. He was a role model to all who knew him. Friends will enjoy reminiscing about the inventive pranks that he pulled over the years.Dennis lived an active life and was involved in many golf and tennis leagues. His infamous cut shots will be long remembered. Dennis enjoyed boating with family and friends. He loved traveling and looked forward to annual family vacations to Florida. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed attending Badger sporting events. He supported the sporting events and school activities of his children, nieces and nephews and grandchildren, rarely missing one if he could help it. Dennis was employed for more than 30 years as a banker, first at Valley Bank and then as Vice President of M&I Bank of Oshkosh. He quickly gained a reputation for his integrity, commitment, and kindness to his customers, many of whom became wonderful friends. He will be remembered for his fairness, sincerity and willingness to help families and individuals who needed the faith of a stranger. Dennis family wishes to express gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Aurora Medical Center, Mercy Medical Center, Wachtel Cancer Center, and the Aurora Visiting Nurse Association for their care. Dennis faced his many physical challenges with strength, courage and determination. He never gave up. His family is also grateful to the friends and relatives who have been so dedicated and loyal to Dennis and his family. Dennis is loved and will be missed by his wife, Joyce Wussow of Oshkosh; one son, Dr. Brian (Ingrid Recnik) Wussow DC, of Madison, WI; one daughter, Dr. Elizabeth (Matthew) Seeliger AuD of Oregon, WI; six grandchildren, Taylor, Tori and Cole Wussow, Kierik, Kaden and Sylviah Seeliger; two sisters, Joreen Rogers of Deerfield Beach, FL; Sandra Distefano of Upland, CA; two brothers-in-law, David (Beverly) Juedes of Oshkosh; Daniel (Shelley) Juedes of Mequon, WI and loving nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Dorothy Wussow; step father, Ken Allmers; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Sylvia Juedes, sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Robert Pickering, and brother-in-law, Richard Rogers. Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (1206 Ontario St.) on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Paul Lidtke officiating. Family and friends may call at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday at the church from 10:00 AM to the time of service. Entombment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.A wonderful man has come and gone from this earth. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of family and friends, and especially in his wifes heart who will forever cherish the wonderful years of their lives spent together. He was and always will be a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew him. His family is at peace knowing that his pain and suffering has subsided. We love you always Dennis and miss you already.
