Diane E. Zielinski

Diane E. Zielinski, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Oshkosh on November 17, 2018. Her kindness and love will be forever remembered by her children and grandchildren.
Diane was born on September 4, 1932 in Milwaukee, and graduated from Bay View High School. She worked at Allen-Bradley, and married Daniel J. Zielinski on December 5, 1953. Diane kept a beautiful home in Brookfield for 50 years, raising her children, and entertaining Dan’s business guests from around the world. Diane attended Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church and served as president of the church council and led Sunday School.
Diane and Dan retired to Oshkosh. Her grandchildren were the focus of her life, and she had a special relationship with each of them. She attended many of their school events and was very proud of their accomplishments. She was a passionate reader, and greatly enjoyed discussing historical and current events. Diane supported the Oshkosh Area Humane Society; she loved animals and over the years had many special pets. Diane and Dan loved to travel, and most of all, visiting their lifelong friends in Europe, China, Australia and New Zealand.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband Daniel, of 62 years, and her parents, William Bearman and Erna Huff, both of Milwaukee. She is survived by two children, Dawn (Patrick) Tracey and Daniel II (Cindy); six grandchildren, Patrick D., Brittney, Daniel III, Ashley, Melonie, and Jordan.

The family is grateful for loving care from the Ascension Hospice Caregivers, Jenny, Joy, Crystal and Kim; and Valley VNA Caregivers, Kim, Sherry, Cheryl, Debbie, Erin and Brittney. A special thanks to long term caregivers and dear friends Sue King, and Richard from Ascension Visiting Nurses. They helped provide a wonderful quality of life over the past few years, and were loved by Diane.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday November 24, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1860 Wisconsin St., Oshkosh. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
