Dolores I. Kieckhafer, 81 of Oshkosh died on Sunday December 14, 2008 at Bethel Home with her family at her side. She was born in Oshkosh on April 13, 1927, a daughter of the late Alois and Veronica (Fisher) Stutz. Dolores married Donald Kieckhafer on October 15, 1949 in Oshkosh, sharing 59 loving years together.In her early years Dolores had been employed by the Telephone Company as a switchboard operator. She was a lifetime member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish, Sacred Heart Church. Dolores graduated from Oshkosh High School and throughout her life was actively involved with the Reunion Committee for the class of 1945. She and Don loved to dance and were members of the Top Hat dance club and the American Legion dance club. She devoted her life to her loving family and supported them in all their activities. After her husband retired, they enjoyed traveling the country with friends and spending winter months in Florida. They also enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren at their homes.Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Donald Kieckhafer, Oshkosh; one son Jeffery (Laurie) Kieckhafer, Oshkosh; two daughters, Gail (John) Polzin, Deerfield, WI; Donna (Randy) Feldman, Minnetonka, MN; one brother, Leo Stutz, Rhinelander; five grandchildren Matthew (Rachel) Polzin, Deerfield, WI; Kristen (Scott) Witkowski, Deerfield, WI; Ashley Feldman, Minnetonka, MN; Benjamin Feldman, Minnetonka, MN; Kali Kieckhafer, Oshkosh; and one great granddaughter, Aubrey Witkowski, Deerfield, WI. Dolores is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Stutz and one sister Caroline Berndt.The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Bethel Home-Dementia Unit for their loving care and friendship.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jude the Apostle Parish, Sacred Heart Church (519 Knapp St.) on Friday December 19, 2008 at 11:00 am with Rev. Joel Sember officiating. Family and friends may call at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00pm and on Friday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial to the Alzheimers Association Greater Wisconsin Chapter has been established.
