Dolores L. Roberts

Dolores L. Roberts, age 90, passed away in the early morning of Tuesday, July 20, 2021 surrounded by family at The Residence at Oshkosh. She was born in Weyauwega on September 5, 1930 to the late John and Violet (Leverentz) Zuge. Dolores married the love of her life, Marvin Roberts Sr. on October 2, 1952 at St. Peter’s Church in Weyauwega. They enjoyed 59 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with five children. Marvin preceded her in death on October 22, 2011.

Dolores lived her life modeling the fruits of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. She was the sweetest lady who always greeted everyone with her warm smile and gentle spirit. A competitive bingo player and doing word search puzzles kept Dolores active but her most treasured time was in the company of her family that she devoted a lifetime of love and care through all the seasons of her life. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling with her husband Marvin on the motorcycle, camping and enjoying lake life at their cottage in Wild Rose, and spent many years sharing joy with children as the train conductor during the Christmas holiday season at Park Plaza in Oshkosh. She was a gifted homemaker and provided an abundance of love in baking her children and grandchildren their favorite dishes. Dolores was blessed with positivity and the ability to shine her light of strength, endurance and her firm foundation of faith. Dolores was a long-standing member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Dolores is lovingly survived by four children: Kay (Jeff) Miller, Sherry (John) Seabul, Brenda (Andrew) Vechart, Marv Roberts Jr. (Jennifer Gardner); ten grandchildren: Joshua (Nancy) Galica, Jennifer Jensen, Jeremy (Janelle) Galica, Jonathan Seabul, Kyle Roberts, Christopher Seabul, Kendall Roberts, Adam (Olivia) Vechart, Hayley Roberts, Hannah Roberts; six great grandchildren: Alexander, Riley, Koen, Evan, Ivy, Olive; sisters-in-law: Violet Zuge, Elaine Zuge, Audrey Briggs, Elaine (Eugene) Vaughan; and brother-in-law, Gary (Patti) Roberts. She was further preceded in death by her son, Michael Roberts; siblings: John Zuge Jr., Clifford Zuge, Doreen Nehring, Dorothy Berg, and Lois Zuge.

Private family services will be held Friday, July 23, 2021.
