Our beloved mother Dolores (Dolly) Herman passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. She was born on November 1, 1927. She married Russell Herman November 3, 1953, in San Jose, CA. After their marriage they moved to Russells home state of Wisconsin where they lived for the duration of their lives. Dolly loved California and a piece of her heart always remained there. Dolly worked as a cashier at Piggly Wiggly for many years where she was adored by her many customers and co-workers. Dolly loved to gamble and spent many hours putting nickels in the slot machines at her favorite casino. She also loved going to her sons tavern- The Fountain on Tuesday nights to have a pop and visit with all the patrons. Most of all, Dolly loved her children. She was immensely proud and fiercely protective of each of them. Dolly was incredibly stubborn and full of spunk and sass. Her humor, quick wit, and fierce loyalty were the traits that made her so beloved to so many people. This lady meant everything to all of us.Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, and a granddaughter. She is survived by her children: Lana (John) Kroll, Gayle (Robin) Adams, Becky (Tom) Schneider, Donald Herman, and Jill (Rich) Pascarella. She was a proud grandmother to John (Angie) Kroll, Michael (Laura) Kroll, Bambi Dimaggio, Erik Schneider, Jodie Gazzana, Stayci Herman, Zachary Pascarella, Alexandra Pascarella, and 13 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, David (Sheila) Stanbery, who moved here from California to be close to his only sister and her family; her very special friend, Dolores (Tootie) Rhode, and wonderful friend and neighbor, Marcia Krystoff.A memorial service will be held for Dolores at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2016, at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside (100 Lake Pointe Drive), with Pastor Kelly Vidmar officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. Monday until the time of the service. Inurnment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her home healthcare nurse Richard, and to the wonderful hospice staff who provided such gentle care during her final days.
