Donald Ferdinand Mathe

Donald F. Mathe, 81, of Oshkosh, died Friday April 18, 2008 at Evergreen Retirement Community. He was born on April 5, 1927 in Oshkosh a son of Joseph and Catherine Berndt Mathe. On October 7, 1947 he married Marilyn Roberts. She preceded him in death on December 18, 2003.He worked at Rockwell International as a machine repairman. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed carpentry, masonry, playing the slot machines and had played in the Rockwell Golf League.He is survived by three sons Gary(Sharon) Mathe of Ellicottville, N.Y., Greg(Cindy) Mathe of Oshkosh, Durand(Susie) Mathe of LaCrosse, one daughter Karen(Larry) Tritt of Oshkosh, 11 grandchildren Teri Moon, Jamie(Joyce) Moon, Christopher(Kari) Moon, Kory Tritt, Garth(Holly) Mathe, Chad Mathe, Eric(Cindi) Mathe, Brenda(Matt) Schertz, Katie Mathe, Ben(Colleen) Steller, Hayli Mathe, four great-grandchildren Ryan Moon, Caden Moon, Alexis Tritt, Max Mathe, three brothers John(Carolyn) Mathe of Florida, Clifford(Joy) Mathe of Fond du Lac, Joseph(Rose) Mathe Jr. of Oshkosh, two sisters Audrey Ceelen of Oshkosh, Irene(Ray) Poqette of Florida, three sisters-in-law Betty Messerschmidt, Donna(David) Brehmer, Sandy Fraser, one brother-in-law Clarence(Charlotte) Roberts, many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, an infant son James Mathe, an infant sister Dorothy, three brothers-in-law Henry Ceelen, Clark Messerschmidt, and Ed Fraser.Private family services will be held followed by cremation.A memorial has been established.
