Donald Handy Sr.

Donald R. Handy Sr., age 79, of Oshkosh, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at his residence, with his family by his side. He was born on April 11, 1934 in Oshkosh son of the late Louis and Violet (Hoffmann) Handy. Don married Joanne Jacobson on June 16, 1956. Don is an Air Force Veteran. He worked at Rockwell International until his retirement. Don enjoyed watching his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and golf. Donald is preceded by his parents, daughter; Cathy Welte, and brother; Wayne Handy.He is survived by his wife; Joanne, two sons; Jim (Kelly) Handy of Oshkosh and Donald (April) Handy Jr. of TN, brothers; Ken (Mable) Handy of Fond du Lac and Ralph Handy of Oshkosh, sister; Lois (Tom) Meisel of Oshkosh. He is further survived by six grandchildren; Logan and Jordann Handy, Shannon (Gustavo) Osario-Handy, Joseph Handy, Bridget (Mark) Horton, and Lauren Welte, four great-grandchildren; Luke Manues, Greyden Osario, and Jacob and Summer Horton, son-in-law Ron Welte of TX, and a sister-in-law Pat Handy-Smith.Per Dons wishes his body has been donated to the University of Wisconsin Medical School and also no formal services will be taking place for Donald.
