Donald Jerome Krueger

May 25, 1944 — February 6, 2009

Donald Jerome Krueger, 64, died Friday February 6, 2009 after a long and brave battle against cancer. His family and friends were with him in their presence and their thoughts. Don was born May 25, 1944 to Clarence and Joy Krueger in Tomahawk, WI. He married Kathryn Arnott on June 19, 1965. Don and Kathy started life together in their hometown of Tomahawk. Navy life from 1963-1967 took them to San Diego for a time. In 1974 they moved to Green Bay as Don continued his career with Wisconsin Public Service. One final move in 1985 brought them to Oshkosh. Don retired from WPS in 2002 after 33 years. He then became an instructor for NWTC in Green Bay and Cardinal Stritch University. During Dons life he was involved in numerous committees, clubs, and organizations. His passions became the American Cancer Society, Kiwanis, EAA, Relay for Life, Bosom Buddies Cancer support group, his church, and his community. Don looked forward to all of his volunteer activities, which also included a variety of coaching endeavors, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, brat fry fund raisers, and the United Way. Don loved to travel with Kathy to various locations for biking, sight-seeing, and the beach. He hunted, fished, and attended many sporting events in the area. Don loved to spend time with his two daughters, grandkids, family members, and friends. Survivors of Dons loving family include his wife of 43 years, Kathy; two daughters, Tamera (Frank) Korczyk of McHenry, IL and Theresa (Mark) Stanek of Oshkosh; eight grandchildren, Max, Bridget, Adam, and Heather Korczyk, Riley, Turner, Eli and Kaylyn Stanek; a very special friend Nick Stremer of New Brighton, MN; a sister Marlyn Jensen (Don Wilson); and two brothers Gerald (Barb) Krueger and Ronald (Mary) Krueger.
