Donald Laabs

Donald D. Laabs, 78 died Friday, April 4, 2014 at home surrounded by his family. he was born January 16, 1936 to the late Franklin and Ella (Logeman) Laabs. He married Jo Ann Paulson on December 29, 1956, and shared 57 wonderful years of marriage.Donald served in the Marine Corps League, serving his country in the Korean war. He was a member of the American Legion, and a volunteer for the Affinity Medical Center. Donald also was a volunteer for the Omro Fire Department and Omro Auxiliary Police. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Donald will be deeply missed.In addition to his wife Jo Ann, he is survived by four sons, Duke (Diane) Laabs, Eugene (Special friend Dawn) Laabs, Kevin (Shelli) Laabs, Darren (Lisa) Laabs; two daughters, Cheryl (Don) Wendt, Karen (Rocky Sr.) Wischow; one sister, Margaret (Donald) Gantner; 17 grandchildren, Michelle, Jessica, Stephanie, Don Jr., Rocky Jr., Apryle, Jadrian, Trayc, Elizabeth, Austyn, Hunter, Logan, Katelyn, Owen, Ayden, Imara, Jenessa; seven great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jayden, Julia, Ava, Grahm, Madeline, Madisen.He was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Laabs; and infant sister, Dorothy.Services will take place on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church, 720 Jackson Ave., Omro. Visitation will be from 9am until the services at 11am with Rev. Richard Bartholomew officiating. Military honors to follow. Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Donalds name.
