Donna Jean Kloehn, age 82, died peacefully with her children by her side on Sunday, November 7, 2021, in Oshkosh, WI. She was born in Oshkosh, on July 4, 1939, the daughter of Frank and Martha Griedl. She was baptized and confirmed at First English Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. She graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1957. She married the love of her life, James Kloehn on September 21, 1957. Donna and James opened their home to three foster children over several years. She retired early from Oshkosh Truck Corporation to become an in-home babysitter, caring for her grandchildren, along with others as though they were her family.
Donna is survived by her husband, James, of 64 years; one son, John (Lori) Kloehn; two daughters: Jody (Kevin) Koplitz and Jean (Chad) Pietrowski all of Oshkosh; one brother, Gerald (Jane) Griedl and sister, Mary (Randy) Van Linn all of Oshkosh; seven grandchildren: Dayna (Andrew) Brehmer, Samantha (Adam) Demler, Mackenzie (Ben) Cleaver, Kamron (Amber) Koplitz, Quint Koplitz, Connor Koplitz, and Bailey (TJ) Coe, and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Joan, Audrey, Eleanor, and Margaret; one grandson, Sawyer Zeinert and her cat Lilly.
Donna enjoyed many years of travelling, camping, bowling, attending the kid’s various sports, including baseball, softball, basketball, gymnastics, dance, football, and hockey. She also supported the Brewers and Packers. She loved her scratch off tickets, card games, dice games and trips to the casino. She was very much at home in the kitchen and especially enjoyed making food for friends and family with everyone’s favorites being her cookies and deviled eggs. She was always changing out decorations in her home to keep in time with the changing seasons and various holidays.
A funeral is scheduled for Donna at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at First English Lutheran Church, 1013 Minnesota St Oshkosh. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 9:00 am until time of service.
