Donna Rae Bothner, age 84, passed away peacefully, at her home, on May 29th, 2014.Donna was born on January 3rd, 1930, to S.Theodora (Kingland) and Martin Evenson. She was raised in Stoughton WI with her beloved sister Janis (Hinze). Donna graduated High School, then attended University of Wisconsin Madison, and Baylor University in Texas earning a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Donna worked as an RN in Waco Texas, did medical histories for insurance companies, volunteered at Red Cross Blood Drives and also worked at voting polls in Oshkosh.Gerald and Donna Bothner married on May 12th, 1951. Donna then devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. They had three children: Greg, Sonja (Nisler), and Amy, son-in-law Gordon Nisler, and, three grandchildren: Anna and Alexandr Nisler, and Alexandra Klotz. The couple lived in Oshkosh Wisconsin and built a cabin in Minocqua. As a family, they enjoyed road trips to National Parks, skiing, biking, hiking, sailing and canoeing. As a couple they went to Bible study, square dance, bridge group, and dinner theater. Donna also liked sewing and knitting, jigsaw and crossword puzzles.Donnas life was rooted in faith. She was a devoted member of Peace Lutheran Church, serving on womens circle, and as a Sunday school teacher for many years.Donna shared her Norwegian heritage by creating a family genealogy, baking traditional Scandinavian treats, and keeping family stories alive.Donna had a long struggle with Alzheimers. We would like to thank her wonderful home health- caregivers for the love and support they gave over the years. Visitation begins at 11:00, Funeral Service at 12 noon, lunch following. Rev. John Worzala-Dumke officiating. Burial for Donna will be on Monday June 9th, at RIVERSIDE CEMETERY in Stoughton WI, at 1:30p.m.In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established. We want not to grieve that we have lost you, but rather to be thankful that we have had you, indeed that we have you still now; for whoever returns home to the Lord remains in the fellowship of Gods family and has only gone ahead.
