Melanie Johnson

Doreen “Melanie” Johnson, born on August 21, 1950, passed away surrounded by her loving daughters on March 25, 2024. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, known for her quick wit and sarcastic humor.

Survived by her sister, Jackie Williamson; daughters, Marcy (Tony) Martineau, Brandy (Jim) Mendicino-Willyard, Trudi (Kurt) Bartus, and Rebecca (Jeff) Groleau, Doreen's legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Marnie (Andrew) Rubinstein, Racquel Wilcox, Madisen Derouin, Ajustis Bartus, Abigail Langkau, Austin Langkau, Peytin Langkau, Jackson Groleau, and Olivia Groleau. Her great-grandchildren, Allaire, Jack and Salem Rubinstein, were the apple of her eye.

Melanie was born in Louisiana and graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1969.  

Melanie retired from 20 years at Mid-States Aluminium.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures: babysitting her grandkids, tending to her flower garden, shopping, and traveling.

Melanie's feisty and fun-loving spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of her company.

She is preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Knutson; mother, Doreen Knutson and sister, Yvonne Fonseca.

A private burial took place at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh with her family. Rest in peace, Melanie, knowing you left a legacy of laughter and love that will endure for generations.
