On July 13th,1957 she married and became a devoted wife of 66 years to William E. Gerth, she had their children Linda (Ron) Wachholz of Oshkosh, William (Theresa) Gerth of Green Bay and Dottie (Randy) Brown of Oshkosh. Ten grandchildren: Joshua Wachholz. Kristina (Wayne) Hatfield, William Ginke, Hans Ginke and Mckenna (Dillon) Vania, Jessica (Ryan) Carriveau, Brett (Kim) Stordeur, Liz Brown, Nate (Mindy) Brown, Jess (Dave) Scott. Six great grandchildren: Claire Ginke, Madison and Bentley Carriveau, Joshua Hatfield, Sophie Scott, and Brenton Brown. Extended family loved just the same, Kelly Schwab and Grant (Kelly) Schwab who have always had a special place in Dorothy’s (Auntie’s) heart. Along with her sister Mary Ellen Nelson and Donna Borris.

Dorothy was first and for most a women of faith. She attended Redeemer Lutheran Church for many years where she was an active and inspiring volunteer within the church including, a member of the choir. It is there where she obtained close friendships with several of the church ladies who later became her Red Hat Society members and her canasta card playing group. Dorothy later became a member of First English Lutheran Church where she attended service every Saturday with her husband. She was a dedicated volunteer at Parkview Health Center and she was a skilled seamstress and owner of Momma Sans Laundry.

Dorothy was kind, compassionate, devoted and a giving Christian lady. Throughout her life she faced all challenges with courage and dignity. She was a shopper who always had coupons and couldn’t pass up a good deal. She had quick wit, a sense of calm and always made sure she received her hugs from her family. Dorothy was an inspiration and role model to those around her and she will be deeply missed by her husband and family. May you rest in peace.

Our family would like to thank the staff of Serenity Gardens at Bethel Home for their compassion and extraordinary care that they gave to our loved one. Especially Kelly, Alice, Kristine, Jaden, Pinky and Lynn.
