Dorothy B. Bathke

Dorothy B. Bathke found eternal peace on December 15, 2011. Formerly of Oshkosh, Dorothy spent the last three and a half years of her life in Fond du Lac. Born April 17, 1914 in the Township of Poy Sippi, WI, Dorothy was the daughter of William A. and Clara A. (Buchholtz) Werner. After moving to Oshkosh and attending classes at the Oshkosh Business College, she worked at the former Waite Carpet Company. On June 28, 1941, she married Milton E. Bathke. She spent many years at home with her family before working part time at Miles Kimball. In later years she returned to Waite Carpet, after which she worked for the City of Oshkosh. Dorothy loved her family and filled the role of caretaker many times. In her home, no meal was complete without a dessert. She loved to bake. In recent years she was asked to name her proudest accomplishment, and her reply was, a life of honesty and hard work, words well said and well done. Dorothy was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Preceding her in death were her husband Milton, her brother Lawrence Werner and her sister Ethel Werner.Survivors include a daughter Donna (Steven E.) Klabunde, Fond du Lac WI; a son Dennis (Rebecca) Bathke , Chicago IL; grandson Steven M. (Barbara) Klabunde and children Erika, Steven A. and William, Waterloo IA; grandson Michael Klabunde, Oak Park, IL; grandson John Bathke, Chicago, IL; and granddaughter Lynn Bathke, Los Angeles, CA.The funeral service will be at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside) at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 with the Rev. Nancy Krueger officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Peace Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
