Dorothy Jane Keas, a woman who loved every adventure life had to offer, died on Monday, September 24, 2012 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She was 92. Dorothy was born on November 21, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Stanley and Amanda Woods.Dorothy was elegant, confident, opinionated, charming and accomplished. She married Carl Keas on November 4, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1992. They spent most of their married lives in the greater Chicago area and eventually retired to Mesa, Arizona in 1975.She loved to travel and was fortunate enough to surf in Hawaii, walk along the Great Wall of China, ride a camel in Egypt, and sail on the Queen Mary II ocean liner, as well as cruising to many distant places. She enjoyed playing bridge, bingo, and blackjack. Every day was an opportunity to do something interesting or learn something new. Summer was her favorite season and cornflower blue was her favorite color.Survivors include two sons, Richard (Kathleen) Keas of Oshkosh, Roger (Criselda) Keas of Kennesaw, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Deborah Keas of West Chester, Ohio; grandchildren, Jermaine Keas, Laura (Steve) McDonald, Karl (Dana) Keas, Leslie Cooper, and Kyle Keas; great grandchildren, Ian McDonald, Liam McDonald, Lily McDonald, Tyler Buser, Natalie Buser, Brooklynn Keas, Austin Cooper, Sofia Cooper, and Will Cooper. Dorothy was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald Keas and Warren Keas; and a brother, Edward Woods.A private Christian burial will be held at a later date in Mesa, Arizona.The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Oakwood Manor and Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion.Dont be sad because it is over. Smile because it happened.
