Dorothy M. Zick

Dorothy M. Zick, 94, Oshkosh, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 17, 2018. Dorothy was born August 21, 1923, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Erwin and Lydia (Raddatz) Spaltholz. She married Wesley Zick in August 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1993. Dorothy was a very active and involved woman, volunteering in her church whenever she could with Sunday school, choir, and the ladies guild. She also partook in Cub Scouts as a Den Mother. Her hobbies included cooking and sewing, making just about everything, even her children’s clothing. Dorothy enjoyed watching birds, especially hummingbirds. She was a very patient and dedicated woman, giving of her time to serve her four children and husband. Dorothy was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Oshkosh.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Darryl (Lyda), Alpharetta, GA, Karen (Bill) Koch, Oshkosh, and Alan (Teri), Charlottesville, VA; a daughter-in-law, Marjie Zick, Oshkosh; grandchildren: Jeff Zick, Tim Zick, Mike Zick, Laura Anderson, Stephanie Schultz, Jennifer Wojiecowski, Becky Johnson, Matt Koch, Tyler Zick, and Micah Zick; 27 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jerry, three grandchildren, a brother, four sisters, and a sister-in-law, Beverly (John) Engelmeyer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1206 Ontario Street, Oshkosh, with Rev. Paul Lidtke officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service.
