Dorothy Stockton

Dorothy J. (Grindstad) Stockton passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Eden Meadows. She was born on August 28, 1929 in Madison, Wisconsin to Ole and Mary Grindstad. She married Dr. George Stockton on April 20, 1951 in Madison, WI. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, daughter Nancy Stockton, son George Stockton Jr., sister Alice Grindstad, and brother Melvin Grindstad.Dorothy is survived by three children, a son Robert(Marcia) Stockton and daughter Susan(Maurice) Flippin all of Madison, daughter Judy(Larry) Jarvenpaa of Oshkosh. She is further survived by a sister Clara Mohr of Madison, and a twin brother Donald Grindstad of Phoenix, AZ. Further survivors include four wonderful granddaughters, Chelsea Stockton, Nicole(Gerardo) Ramos, Kristin Stockton (Lee Jorgensen), Amanda Jarvenpaa, and numerous nieces and nephews.Rememberances will be limited to a private family gathering at the family gravesite in Madison at a later date per Dorothys wishes.The family would like to express their gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff with the Lombardi Cancer Clinic, and the Aurora Hospice Staff and Eden Meadows.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Dr. George Stockton Scholarship Fund at UW-Oshkosh.
