Douglas L. Jensen, age 77, of Oshkosh passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Evergreen Retirement Community- Creekview South. He was born on March 1, 1940 in Oshkosh, the son of Alvin and Norma Jensen. Doug graduated from Winneconne High School in 1958. He married Barbara Zimmerman in 1961; in 1979 he married Dorothy Birukoff.
Doug owned and operated the National Tavern and was past President of the Oshkosh Bowling Association. He worked at Badger Lumber Company, Pluswood, Arrowhead Conveyor and Evergreen as a bus driver before he retired.
Doug liked collecting antiques and Oshkosh Milk Bottles. He enjoyed deer hunting with his son Bill and good friends Eugene and Brian Biettler.
He is survived by his son, Bill (Ann) Jensen; daughters, Debora Jensen and Judith Zimmer; step daughters, Kristy Hendrich and Lori (Rob) Buerk; five grandchildren, Amber, TJ, Michael (Andrea), Tanya and Justin (Dee Dee); seven great grandchildren; sister in law, Karen Jensen; and other family members.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Norma; wives, Barbara and Dorothy; and brother, Jack Jensen.
A visitation will be held at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-(Westside) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017. Interment will be in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, IA on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Evergreen for all the kindness and care they showed and gave to Doug.
