Duane S. Blanchard

Duane S. Blanchard, age 77 (although according to him he was always 29) of Green Bay, was sent to his eternal home on Thursday, January 30 after a brief illness. Duane was born on July 4th, 1947, in Oshkosh WI, son of the late Harold and Bernice Blanchard.

Duane was a loving, gentle, and sincere person. He was known for his playful sense of humor and his appreciation for the simple things in life. He genuinely enjoyed spending time with family, walking outdoors in the fresh air or sitting beneath the warmth of the sun. He had fond memories of going to wrestling events with his dad and brothers and walking with his dad to the fairgrounds in Oshkosh years ago. He liked puzzles and coloring to pass the time. He never passed by the chance to have ice cream, but despite 99 flavors to pick from, he would choose vanilla.

Duane is survived by two brothers, Ronald, and Timothy Blanchard; four sisters, Joyce Wiles, Gail (Daniel) Carrick, June Zentner and Pamela (Clyde) Gruse; sister-in-law, Jean Blanchard, and many nieces and nephews.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Bernice Blanchard; two sisters, Karen and Nedeen Curtis; two brothers, Marvin and Darrell Blanchard and brother-in-law, Robert Wiless and Merle Curtis.

Special thanks for the loving care Duane received from Amanda and Jenna from Crossroads Care Center in Green Bay, he loved them both and considered them family.

A celebration of Duane's' life will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside, 402 Waugoo Ave, on Thursday, February 13, 2025 starting at 12:00pm. A time of visitation will begin at 11:30am till the start of the service. Interment will take place at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Oshkosh at a later date.
