Earl R. Rasmussen, age 84 of Oshkosh died at Bethel Home on Friday July 20, 2012, with family at his side. Earl was born on July 23, 1927, a son of the late Fred and Harriet Lang Rasmussen. He married Donna Wetterau on June 16, 1951 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.Earl was an active member of Our SaviorLutheran Church. He retired as a truck driver and had Sunset Gardens on Knapp St. He did market garden growing and selling fresh produce and flowers for 46 years. He was known for his corn and gladiolus. Earl was a member of the Gladiolus Club and a 4-H Leader. He enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture, gardening and traveling.Survivors include his wife Donna of Oshkosh; five sons, Donald A. (Sally) Rasmussen, Joel R.(Shelley) Rasmussen, Jeffrey L. (Kathleen) Rasmussen, Lawrence E. Rasmussen all of Oshkosh and Paul D. (Vicki) Rasmussen of Anchorage, Alaska; one daughter, Marilee A. (Michael) Pelko of Oshkosh; one brother, Harley Rasmussen of Oshkosh; two sisters, Margaret Pedersen of North Dakota; Evelyn Lesch of Arizona; twelve grandchildren, Michelle Wenzel, Jamie Bonnen, Jack Rasmussen, Jody Hahnke, Zachary Rasmussen, Elizabeth Rasmussen, Renee Rasmussen, Matthew Rasmussen, Erik Staerkel, Tracy Staerkel, Nathan Rasmussen, and Amanda Rasmussen; and fifteen great grandchildren, Salicia, Gavriel, and Arianna Wenzel; Alexis Bonnen; Logan, Ava, and Annie Rasmussen; Leyna, Adeline, Margaret, and Samuel Hahnke; Hailey Rasmussen; Troy, and Wyatt Staerkel; and Orion Ledger. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Fred Rasmussen, and three sisters, Helen Rasmussen, Ruth Hitchcock, and Elaine Conyers.Funeral services for Earl will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church (1860 Wisconsin St.) on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Kemp Jones officiating. Family and friends may call at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am to the time of service.Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
