July 23, 1936 — March 17, 2016

Edward C. Jaquet, 79, of Oshkosh, died March 17, 2016, after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born on July 23, 1936 the son of the late August and Dorothy (Kruel) Jaquet. Edward married Marlene Giese on April 23, 1960 in Beaver Dam, WI.Edward was a member of the WCA (Wisconsin Campers Association) for many years as he took his family camping almost every weekend when his kids were young. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, woodworking, and putting puzzles together to make them into framed pictures for each of his grandchildren. He was a devout Green Bay Packers fan who was always coaching them through his TV. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard and was a machinist for John Deere for many years before he bought the Waukegan Inn in the Northwoods of Wisconsin with his wife. They met people from all over the world in their years running this tavern in St. Germain. After selling the Waukegan Inn, he went to work for Lamers Bus Service for quite a few more years prior to fully retiring. He loved his last job as he met many, many people and traveled all over the U.S. driving bus tours.Edward is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marlene; daughters Sherry Jaquet of Beaver Dam and Diane (Doug) Flouro, of Oshkosh; sisters Ruth (Ronald) Ulrich and Helen Jaquet, both of Horicon; granddaughters Desiree, Danielle and Deidra Flouro, whom he loved and cherished greatly, as well as many nieces and nephews.Edward was preceded in death by his parents, twin infant daughters Cheryl and Theresa Jaquet; two brothers Robert and Arthur Jaquet; and one sister Emilie Jaquet. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at Bethel Home and Aurora Hospice for the care they provided to Edward during these last couple of months.A memorial service for Edward with full military honors will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2450 W. 9th Ave, with Rev.
