Edward Owens Coumbe, age 90, died on January 18, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Edward was born in Oshkosh April 18, 1929 to J. Robert (Bob) and Gwen (Owens) Coumbe.
Ed graduated from Blue River High School. He was employed for many years at Leach company in Oshkosh and at Mercury Marine in Fond Du Lac as a tool and die maker. A long time member of Algoma Blvd United Methodist Church, Ed sang in the choir and served on many committees. He was on the Board of the Oshkosh Museum and member of the area Rock and Mineral Club. Ed was a collector and walking encyclopedia about his passions. He was blessed to have lifelong friends. Stories at his 90th birthday party had everyone laughing.
Ed is survived by his sister, Louise Coumbe; sons, John and Stephan (Patricia); daughter, Mary (John Wu) Johnson; niece, Helen (Perry) Nelson; nephews, Robert (Carol) Ayers, Dan (Deb Adams) Donica, and Tim Coumbe; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack (Vi) Coumbe; sister, Naomi (Lewis) Ayers; and niece Rev. Barbara Ayers Donica.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 3:00 PM with visitation an hour before the service at Algoma Blvd. United Methodist Church, 1174 Algoma Blvd, Oshkosh, WI 54901. Interment will be in the Coumbe Cemetery, Blue River, WI in the spring.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Algoma Blvd United Methodist Church.
