Edward R. Bloedow, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at his home. He was born on July 27, 1938 in Oshkosh the son of the late Arthur Bloedow and Laura (George) Felker. Ed proudly served our country in the Air Force and the Naval Reserves. He was united in marriage to LaVerne M. Koplitz on June 12, 1965 at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Their marriage was blessed with four children. Ed worked at Leach Company for over 30 years. He enjoyed meeting with his childhood friends annually, woodworking and shooting at Van Dyne Sportsman’s Club.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, LaVerne of 52 years, two sons: Mark E. of Madison and David M. of Omro; two daughters: Theresa A. Bloedow of Oshkosh and Heidi M. (Jeff) Mishler of Greenville; three grandchildren: Will, Ben and Nate Bloedow; sister-in-law, Phyllis Bloedow and her children: Robert, Karl Bloedow and Barbara (Paul) Miele all of Massachusetts; further survived by many sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Elizabeth Ann, brother, Dale and nephew, Dale Jr. “Butch” Bloedow.
Funeral service will at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Lake View Memorial Park, 2786 Algoma Blvd., with Pastor Tim Greenwald officiating. Friends and family may visit at the cemetery from 11:00 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.
