Edward W. Flynn, 83, of Menasha, died on Wednesday April 18, 2012 at Cherry Meadows Hospice. He was born on March 24, 1929 in Appleton the son of William and Anna Flynn. Edward married Jean E. Bayorgeon on June 7, 1958 in Kaukauna.Mr. Flynn was a Social Studies teacher at Kaukauna High School. After his retirement he enjoyed reading history and cook books, cooking, planting flowers and vegetables, and listening to opera and classical music. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Menasha and was a Korean War Army veteran.Survivors include his wife, Jean of Menasha; daughter, Colleen Soward of Oshkosh; son, Kevin (Fiance - Aimee Salko) Flynn of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; brother, William (Shirley) Flynn of Little Chute; and grandson, Tim Soward of Oshkosh. Edward was preceded in death by one brother, Tim Flynn; sister, Rosemary Larson; and son-in-law, Tom Soward.A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church (528 2nd St., Menasha) with Fr. Paul Paider officiating with military honors to follow. Family and friends may visit at the church on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery-Menasha. A memorial to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society (1925 Shelter Court - Oshkosh, WI 54901) is being established. The Flynn family would like to thank Dr. Ihde, Theda Care at Home, Theda Clare Emergency Room and fifth flour staff, Peabody Manor and Cherry Meadows staff and Don, Peg and Kathy for all the help and care Edward received from them.
