Elaine M. Whittaker, 85 of Oshkosh, died Wednesday April 15, 2009 at Northpoint Medical & Rehabilitation. She was born in Oshkosh on July 2, 1923 daughter of Arthur and Mary Neustifter Lang. She married Stanford Nipper Whittaker. He preceded her in death.Elaine was a member of the First English Lutheran Church and was active in the Esther Circle, the P & I Committee and the Exercise Group. She enjoyed card playing and baking (she was well known for her cookies and breadsticks) and she enjoyed the last two years living at Heritage Court Senior Community where she made many friends. She is survived by a son, James Reiter (partner-Penny) of Oshkosh; her daughters, Sharon (Richard) Roberts, and Judith (Don) Whitewater both of Oshkosh; sisters, Geraldine Wollangk of Oshkosh, and Carole (Gordon) Cell of Cambridge, MN; a son-in-law, Orin Troxell; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Troxell; and sisters, Vivian Lang and Mary Jane Benedict.Her memorial service will be on Wednesday April 22, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside with Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until the time of the service. A memorial has been established. The family sends a special thanks to the caring staff at Northpoint Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Oshkosh.
