Elaine Mae Kolterjahn

Elaine M. Kolterjahn, 88, of Oshkosh died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Eden Meadows. She was born in Oshkosh December 15, 1924 a daughter of the late Oscar and Melda (Purchatzke) Marquardt. She married Edward Kolterjahn on February 6, 1943 and he preceded her in death on August 7, 2002.Elaine was a lifelong member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church and sang in their choir. She had worked many years in the food service program for the Oshkosh public school system.Elaine is survived by a son, Rev. Darrick (Barbara) Kolterjahn of Sturgeon Bay; a daughter, Paula (John) Hathaway of Oshkosh; nine grandchildren, Benjamin (Stacey) Kolterjahn, Nathaniel Kolterjahn, Jonah (Rachel) Kolterjahn, Katherine (Kieth) Szerkins, Aaron (fiance Chelsea) Kolterjahn, Issac Kolterjahn, Mary (fianc Joe) Kolterjahn, Christopher Hathaway, and Ryan (Rachelle) Hathaway; seven great-grandchildren, Jack and Kennedy Kolterjahn, Amos and Kara Grace Kolterjahn, Sawyer, Sydney, and Hadley Szerkins, and a great-granddaughter expected soon; two sisters, Irene (William) Wagner and Lola (Rev. Martin) Ruge; and many nieces, nephews, cousins,other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son, Craig Kolterjahn; and a brother and sister-in-law, Keith (Virginia) Marquardt.A funeral service for Elaine will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Rev. Chadwick Graham officiating. Visitation will be at the church Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.Elaines family would like to thank the staff at Eden Meadows for all the kindness, compassion, and loving care that Elaine received.
