Elaine S. Jungwirth, age 84, passed away peacefully into the hands of her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center of Oshkosh. She was firstborn daughter of the late Harry and Rosalin (Tellock) Endrick on October 28, 1932 and grew up and worked on the family dairy farm in Zittau, Wisconsin. Elaine married Lawrence J. Jungwirth on March 4, 1953 in Oshkosh. Elaine attended a one room schoolhouse and graduated high school from Winneconne. She moved to Oshkosh and started working as a secretary at the Axle as one of the fastest typists. She went on to work for 32 years as a certified unit clerk on the Cardiac unit of Mercy Medical Center.As a child she enjoyed catching and collecting frogs on the family farm and sold them to supper clubs. Her passion was spending time with her grandkids, teaching them cooking, sewing, music and Bible verses. Other hobbies were dart ball, bowling, fishing, cards, and playing dominos, especially Mexican train. She enjoyed giving the children of her congregation stickers, and over all loved lending a hand to anyone that needed it, never missing a chance to put others first.After retiring, Elaine loved volunteering at many different places. Those include: Lifefest, Labor of Love, Oshkosh Blood Bank, M.O.P.S., Taxes at the Senior Center, Voting polls in Oshkosh, and also at Mercy Medical Center and her church, Sunnyview Christian Church.Elaine is survived by her children: Lynette (Richard) Driggers, James (Paula) Jungwirth, and Joey (Michele) Jungwirth; grandchildren: Leah (David) Spina, Faith (John) Burke, Mark (Jessica) Driggers, Adam (Christine) Driggers, Noah Driggers, Levi (Jessica) Jungwirth, Gracie, Rhyah, Maisy, and Tana Jungwirth, Steven (Kayla) Duke, Jake Domke, and sister-in-law Blanche Endrick. She is further survived by fifteen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her special friend: Peter Westergard. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers: Jim and Tom Endrick.A memorial service for Elaine will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Sunnyview Christian Church (175 E. County Rd. Y Oshkosh 54901) with Pastor Jim Hardy officiating. A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.In lieu of flowers a memorial for Mercy Health Foundation (volunteer services) is being established.The family would like to send the most sincere thank you to the whole staff at Mercy for everything they did for her and for being her second family.Mom, Grandma Red, and friend Elaine will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
