Eldona Schuster

El Dona Gertrude (Piel) Schuster, age 88, loving wife and mother went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 26, 2016. She was born January 21, 1928 in Poygan, WI, the daughter of Walter and Edith (Erickson) Piel. On August 8, 1953 she married John Arthur Schuster. El Dona was an active member of First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh and a member of the Esther Circle Bible Study group for many years. One of her favorite past times was writing letters to her many friends and relatives. She took pride in the fact she landed her first job before she graduated from high school as a secretary for the American Plywood Company in New London, WI. During her marriage to John she helped with the running of the Schuster Turkey Farm located west of Oshkosh.El Dona is survived by her son Stanley (Connie) Schuster of Oshkosh, daughter Ann (Stephen) George of Chardon, OH. She was grandmother of five grandchildren, Daniel Schuster, of Oshkosh, Matthew Schuster, of Hatteras, NC, Elizabeth (Kyle) Sebbio, of Shaker Heights, OH, Hannah Lorenzen, Columbus, OH, Jacob Lorenzen, Chardon, OH, and brother-in-law Neil Starke. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.El Dona was preceded in death by her loving husband John, her parents, Walter and Edith Piel, her brothers Vernon (Dorothy) Piel, Delmer (Edith) Piel and Howard (Jessie) Piel.A funeral service to celebrate El Donas life will be at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, 100 Lake Point Drive, Oshkosh on Thursday March 31, 2016 at 11:00 am with Rev. Timothy Greenwald officiating. A visitation for friends and family will be on Thursday from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Brooks Cemetery, Oshkosh. The family would like to extend our deepest thanks to the staff at The Waterford of Oshkosh and Mercy Medical Center for their kindness and compassion in caring for El Dona. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in El Donas name is being established.
