Eleanor Helen Yttre

Eleanor H. Yttre , 87, of Oshkosh died Saturday February 2, 2013, at Evergreen-Creek View. She was the wife of Stanley T. Yttre, who preceded her in death and mother of Mary Regan Yttre and Raymond K. Yttre, her son Ray also preceded her in death. She is survived by Mary Regan Yttre and her husband William Regan, and Eleanors beloved granddaughter, Katrina all of New Haven, CT.Eleanor was born to Anna Kienbaum and George Jensen in Oshkosh, WI on Dec. 2, 1925. Eleanor grew up on the shores of Lake Winnebago with her brothers and sisters: Roland, William, Margaret, George, Raymond, Ted, Florence, and Elaine, they have all preceded her in death.After high school in Oshkosh, she worked in business until she married Stan. They started their family, moving many times until they moved to Pittsfield, MA, where they lived for over 20 years. After her children were out of school, she turned to her first interest in nursing, working for visiting nurses as a home health aide until her retirement.While in Pittsfield, she and Stan were active in church and the German American Club. After Stan retired they moved to Oshkosh, where they enjoyed traveling and fishing, the American Legion, and sons of Norway. Eleanor also volunteered at the library helping others research genealogy, a longtime interest of hers.In addition to her family she leaves sisters-in-law, Cleo Yttre and Gert Jensen and many nieces and nephews, especially her niece, Barbara, with whom she was very close. She also leaves her friends at Zion Apartments, including her close friend Karen.A funeral service for Eleanor is being held Thursday Feb. 7, 2013, at noon at Zion Lutheran Church (400 N. Sawyer St, Oshkosh), Rev. Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Visitation is being held Wednesday at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside from 5:30 7:30 p.m. and at the church Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial is being established to the Affinity Hospice in memory of Eleanor.
