Ellen Idella Befus

Ellen I. Befus, 87, of Oshkosh, died Monday July 20, 2009 at Park View Health Center. She was born in Mellen, Wisconsin on February 7, 1922 to Lloyd and Sadie Books. She was married to Harvey Befus in 1941 and he preceded her in death on January 23, 1995.She attended Oshkosh High School and was a Candy Striper for Mercy Medical Center following her graduation. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.She is survived by two daughters Sandra Kobs and Kathy(David) Hunter, one granddaughter Tammy(Scott) Olds, two grandsons Trevor Kobs and Tod(Marylou) Hunter, three great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons, two sisters Phyllis Morgan and Laverne Cudy, one brother Milliard(Lanora) Books, sister-in-law Violet(Harold) RiediShe was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers Marion, Bernhard, and Richard Books.Funeral services will be held on Friday July 24, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Marvin Ahlborn officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from noon until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.The family would like to thank the great staff and comforting aids at Park View Health Center. We will forever grateful for the everything they did to make my mother's final days comfortable and peaceful.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
